  75. 1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

  82. 1.5 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  242.             saddle on adjacent pilaster, providing bi-directional
  243.             operation about axis within the plane of the door;
  244.             adjustable cams supporting door, returning to resting
  245.             position by gravity.
  246.         2.  Latch:  Door-mounted slide latch.
  247.         3.  Stop and Keeper:  Permitting emergency access by
  248.             lifting the door until latch is clear of keeper.
  249.         4.  Coat Hook:  Black rubber tip for door stop.

  251.         paragraph is for non-ferrous hardware; the second
  252.         paragraph is for stainless steel hardware.

  263. PART 3  EXECUTION
  264.  
  265. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  266.  
  267.     A.  Verification of Conditions:
  268.         1.  Measure areas to receive compartments; verify area
  269.             dimensions are in accordance with shop drawings.
  270.         2.  Verify built-in framing, anchorage, bracing, and
  271.             plumbing fixtures are in correct location.
  272.  
  273.     B.  Installer's Examination:
  274.         1.  Have installer of this section examine conditions
  275.             under which construction activities of this section
  276.             are to be performed, then submit written notification
  277.             if such conditions are unacceptable.
  278.         2.  Transmit two copies of installer's report to
  279.             Architect within 24 hr of receipt.
  280.         3.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  281.             before unacceptable conditions have been corrected is
  282.             prohibited.
  283.         4.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  284.             indicates installer's acceptance of conditions.
  285.  
  286. 3.2 PREPARATION
  287.  
  288.     A.  Surface Preparation:
  289.         1.  Prepare openings in compartment separation partitions
  290.             for toilet and bath accessories to be installed in
  291.             partitions; marring of partition finish is
  292.             prohibited.
  293.         2.  Locate openings in accordance with shop drawings and
  294.             accessory manufacturer's installation instructions
  295.             and templates.
  296.  
  297. 3.3 INSTALLATION
  298.  
  299.     A.  Install compartments to specified tolerances in
  300.         accordance with shop drawings and manufacturer's printed
  301.         installation instructions.
  302.  
  303.     B.  Attach components to adjacent materials and to other
  304.         components using purpose-designed fastening devices.
  305. NOTE ** Delete one of two paragraphs below.
  306.  
  307.     C.  Adjust pilaster anchors for floor variations; conceal
  308.         anchors with pilaster shoes.
  309.  
  310.     D.  Support pilasters from above ceiling framing using two
  311.         adjustable hanging studs for vertical adjustment to
  312.         level; conceal ceiling fastenings with pilaster shoes.
  313. NOTE ** The remaining provisions apply to all types of
  314.         compartments in this section.
  315.  
  316.     E.  Equip each compartment door with top and bottom hinges,
  317.         and door latch.
  318.  
  319.     F.  Install door strike keeper on pilasters in alignment with
  320.         door latch.

  322.     G.  Equip each compartment door with one coat hook and
  323.         bumper.
  324.  
  325.     H.  Installation Tolerances:
  326.         1.  Max. variation from plumb or level:  1/8 inch.
  327.         2.  Max. displacement from indicated position:  1/8 inch.
  328.         3.  Clearance between wall surface and panels or
  329.             pilasters:  1-1/2 maximum.

  331. 3.4 ADJUSTING
  332.  
  333.     A.  Adjust door hardware for uniform clearance between doors
  334.         and pilasters.
  335.  
  336.     B.  Adjust door hinges to attain free movement, to locate
  337.         in-swinging doors in partial open position when
  338.         unlatched; and to return out-swinging doors to closed
  339.         position.
  340.  
  341.     C.  Adjust door hardware to align door strike keeper on each
  342.         pilaster with door latch.
  343.  
  344. 3.5 PROTECTION OF INSTALLED PRODUCTS
  345.  
  346.     A.  Prevent damage to product finishes by subsequent
  347.         construction activities.
  348.  
  349.     B.  Replace components having damaged finish.
  350.  
  351.     C.  Remove factory protective coverings and clean finish
  352.         surfaces in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
  353.         before final inspection.

  355. 3.6 SCHEDULE
